Our Story
The Welsh Cake Hut is a small family business, run by Jeff and his wife Melanie, who have over 15 years of catering experience. The business was established through their love of Wales and especially Welsh cakes!
Jeff makes the Welsh cakes by hand each week, using only the best local ingredients.
Each week on a Friday the HUT can be found in Monmouth Square, Cwmbran - the Welsh cakes are cooked to order in the traditional way on a cast iron griddle and served warm.
Welsh Cake Hut also has an on line business where you can order your Welsh cakes and they can either be delivered locally or posted anywhere in the UK. They have even posted Welsh cakes to Austria and Canada!

Wedding favours , wedding towers and giant birthday Welsh cakes are also a large part of the business, where each order is given its own bespoke personal touch through personalisation and any other specific requirements requested.
The Welsh Cake Hut has been chosen by over 100 brides and grooms to be part of their wedding celebrations!

The Hut can also be hired out privately for events such as weddings, birthday parties, corporate events or other special occasions.

Over the past three years, the Welsh Cake has been awarded with a Great Taste Award for their chocolate orange flavour Welsh cake and more recently has been Highly Commended by the Food Awards Wales.
